The BMIS library contains over 18,000 volumes and serves both the Primary and Secondary schools. It is computerised and networked and is also fully carpeted with separate work areas for both Secondary and Primary students. The library subscribes to a number of periodicals and the book stock is being constantly updated and expanded. The library also runs the twice-yearly Book Club which enables families to purchase quality books, thereby adding significant numbers of new books to the library stock through the free book scheme. Many families take advantage of this service as the books arrive in just a few weeks. All primary students visit the library on a weekly basis where they are taught basic library skills and are able to change books. Lower secondary students also come weekly to the library as part of their English programme and are encouraged to borrow on a regular basis too. The library is open all day for older students who have study periods. The new software enables students to consult the library catalogue from any networked computer in the school.

The library is staffed by a teacher-librarian, a librarian and an assistant. Parent volunteers are welcomed to help with many time-consuming jobs like covering books with protective film. The library is open from 7:25-4:00 Monday to Thursday and 7:25-12:15 on Friday so students who wish to study after school have somewhere quiet where they may do homework or use the computer. Students may also visit the library one day each week during the holidays – families are notified of holiday opening times through the newsletter, Tikambe.
